Well, the dinner tickets are going at a great pace, and we’re going to continue to sell them up through April 20th, 2006, so there’s still time! If you’re considering attending, well, then pick up your tickets now! We have some new faces this year, and of course a few who are three for three! Our menu is set as well, and this year is an exciting “sit down” dinner in a different room than usual. And of course, there’s the Friday night “meet and greet.” I spoke to my grandfather and he’ll be there ready to say hello to all the guests as he does every year.
So, if you’re thinking about dinner in Philadelphia, now is the time to buy your tickets, book your hotel, flights, trains or whatever else you need to celebrate with the rest of the guests.
Don’t forget: Saturday, May 6, 2006. We’d love to see you there.
To see more pictures, go to our Wild Bill Guarnere dinner gallery, where we’ve stored over 400 photos from the last 2 dinners for your dining and dancing pleasure!
Hey all,
This year we’ll be having a sit-down dinner instead of a buffet. To make it easier (on myself, mostly), I’ve worked with Popi’s to setup a meal that should cater to everyone.
Here’s the way it’s shaped up:
- Salad followed by a plate of Penne pasta
- Main course of Crabcake, Eggplant Rollatini, and veggies
- Tiramisu for dessert
Of course, we’ll have a cash bar with all your favorite drinkables.
Can’t wait!
Hey folks,
I’ve added my dinner photos into the dinner portal. Look on the right side of the main page for the sum total of the dinner pictures as stored on Flickr.
You feeling saucy, yet? This one is coming up fast.

Add our news to your My Yahoo and Google
0 Comments Published March 4th, 2006 in Dinner Info, GeekdomOne of the great things about RSS is that you can basically steal the content and syndicate it to wherever you’d like. What does that mean? Well, it means if you have a Yahoo account, you can bring all the posts from here right into Yahoo or Google and present it just like you present any other news.
Uh, yeah, that’s great, Gino. So what do I do?
Answer: You just click the buttons below and follow the prompts!
I really couldn’t imagine doing a Podcast for the same reason I never thought I’d do a blog: I just don’t think that much of my own opinion. Furthermore, given my affiliation with the digital media industry coupled with my disdain in general for writing that has no analytical substance, I thought Podcasting would be a further waste of my spirit. Anyway, I was wrong. I’d forgotten that I love to talk, and given a microphone and the ability to say something that may be of some value to people, well, I went ahead and did one.
This first podcast, my first ever for WBG.com, is basically my conference call with all the dinner guests (or anyone considering a visit to Philly). I ramble on about the hotel, the restaurant, past successes…etc.
The podcast is about 3 minutes long, with a little fanfare at the end to remind everyone of the sounds that are a part of my grandfather’s permanent memory.
Can’t wait to see you! In the meantime, clicking below will let you hear my thoughts on this year’s dinner.

Well, tickets went on sale today and we’re already drawing from across the West Coast. Mostly names I don’t recognize, so it’ll be great to meet some new folks. As for the usual suspects, I have to admit being excited about the hopeful moment when my Inbox tells me that some old friends have “made the jump.”
It’s going to be, once again, a fantastic event. Stay tuned for more news and info right here, as I plan to blog my way all the up to and through the weekend itself.

At last year’s dinner, one of the intentions was to film the three day event for the purpose of creating a DVD. Well, I actually did the project, but never made it available. There were a few reasons for that, some of which were as follows:
- It was my first “real” edit and therefore represented my learning curve at best
- The audio sucked
- I felt that I’d rather wait until the 2006 dinner and really do something I could be proud of instead of doing something simply because I had the tools to do so
- The end product was simply too long, as I thought that made it better at the time
So, I have made available a very short little opening sequence of the actual DVD. You can check it out below. Enjoy!
Well, this is shaping up to be quite the little portal! I’ve been routing through all my “dinner-related” folders and just came up with the video spot I did from 2004 to promote the dinner for 2005. This efforts represents my earliest attempts to get some video on the web, and I was really just learning the process of editing footage. I’ve put it here for your dining and dancing pleasure.
